HELPING PATIENTS FEEL THE LOVE
Inspired by the Danish word Hygge, meaning coziness, comfort, and well-being, HUGGA brings these same qualities to patients through cozy, feel-good gowns and accessories.
At HUGGA, we’re committed to closing the gap in impersonal hospital care through soft and cozy clothing designed to motivate patients in recovery. Shop HUGGA today to be part of the positive change in your loved one’s life!
OUR MISSION IS PERSONAL
HUGGA was created by a young patient who recognized a critical gap in hospital care when he was just a child.
While patients got the treatment they needed, the way they were treated was often impersonal. HUGGA aims to close that gap by helping patients feel seen, cared for and loved. Our gowns and accessories are hospital grade, but they look and feel amazing. They’re a special personal touch at a time and place where connection is needed most.
Our gowns check all the boxes: they’re hospital grade and anti-microbial. They’re also designed specifically to provide privacy in the front and back. The front of the gown features a double sided zipper function, exposing only what’s necessary. Best of all, HUGGA gowns are made with premium anti-microbial fabric from Columbia, which feels soft to the touch and allows for comfort and easy mobility.
MEET THE FOUNDER
I was diagnosed with acute Crohn’s Disease at age 7, and spent most of my young life in and out of hospitals. Everything from the sterile, impersonal environment to the uncomfortable, reusable gowns made recovery difficult. And while my body healed, my emotional life suffered. I craved real connection, but felt separate from the rest of the world, and alone.
Ironically, I was not alone at all. So many patients of all ages feel exactly this way.
FOR EVERY ITEM SOLD, AN ITEM WILL BE GIFTED TO A PATIENT IN NEED OF A HUGGA
SPREADING THE LOVE
“After I was admitted to the hospital because of a MS flare up, it was really nice to put on my own Hugga gown and not have to wear the gown that is spread out on your hospital bed”
Antonia, Patient, MS Fighter
“Coming out of surgery and finding my HUGGA care package made recovery a bit easier especially since I was able to wear my very own HUGGA gown and socks”
Moshe, Crohn’s Fighter
“I went in for a colonoscopy / endoscopy at UCSD and wore the gown – literally had a groupie of nurses and doctors asking me about it. It was kind of cool wearing my own gown to a procedure”
Yonathan, Patient & Founder
